FROM Teddy...................Jun 6, 1999, 10:31 (EST) Ooops. I just got in trouble. The logo I modified on the home page was borrowed from the official woodstock homepage and I was violating copyright law. So if you don't see it, there is a good reason: it's been removed. I try to create a good replacement asap. FROM Peter...................Jun 7, 1999, 14:37 (EST) The temporary logo is very pretty, but it doesnt have much to do with Sunnyridge. The Hindu stuff didnt really happen til later. More appropriate would be one of the cards from the Tarot deck. Congrats on the new grandchild. FROM jim...................Jun 8, 1999, 11:06 (EST) the budha sitting on his shelf outside the old kitchen, smoking a joint....or the stop sign . the familly pic appearing upon a click, with sunnyridge in bold sanserif caps...or a beautiful female sunnyridger bathing in althouse creek...with sunnyridge in bold esoteric italics accross the clouds....or the three and a half seats screened restroom, with sunnyridge lettered with flies on the screen...or large tin coffee can, a guitar, kerosene lamp and candy bar..... FROM Peter...................Jun 8, 1999, 17:31 (EST) Very good Jimmy, except for the beautiful female sunnyridger!! Not politically correct and revealing your generational bias! Oh well we can't overcome all our upbringing and "environmental" influences. All the other logo ideas and images are evocative of the place and time. FROM Teddy...................Jun 9, 1999, 00:37 (EST) I like the Outhouse with a cloud of flies spelling out Sunnyridge. FROM Peter...................Jun 14, 1999, 17:14 (EST) I REMEMBER NO AIRLINE PILOT. i DO REMEMBER THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS WHO WOULD OCCASIONALLY COME DOWN TO THE SWIMMING HOLE IN THEIR SUITS AND TIES. AT FIRST, THEY HAD A HARD TIME OF IT, BUT THEY KEPT COMING BACK AND GOT MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THE SCENE. THEY NEVER WENT FURTHER THAN TAKING THEIR JACKET OFF BUT THEY DID HANG AROUND PROMOTING THEIR TRIP. FROM Teddy...................Jun 15, 1999, 09:17 (EST) I heard about the Witness's but never met them. That was probably the job of the "keeper of the gate", ie. Peter and Larry. But I remember this airline pilot who visited 2 or 3 times. I don't think he came up to the claim, just enjoyed the scenery at the swimming hole and chatting with the ladies. INCEPTION? PURPOSE? EFFECT? FROM Stan...................Jun 18, 1999, 00:16 (EST) I'd also be interested to know the om's origins. It always struck me how spiritually tuned in we really were (at times at least, at least we understood the concepts)without ever having a ritual or demagogue. It was unspoken and totally informal, therefore supercool. Except for the om, the only outward manifestation of whatever you call it. FROM Peter...................Jun 18, 1999, 18:30 (EST) The Ohming actually had its origins, in my opinion, with the meeting of August first in the meadow above Joe the Flutemaker's house. That is where Larry Barbara Betty and I met for the first time and spoke to each other. The conversation began after an Ohming session participated in by more than 50 people. Larry also played his drums. After that day we started going to where Larry & Barbara were living and eating dinner there. That is where we began to do it. As with everything else there was no edict, no real conversation as I remember... it all happenned... organically. FROM Peter...................Jul 8, 1999, 13:40 (EST) Thanks Demetra for a wonderfully written essay on the OHMING. I was actually moved by some of it and reexperienced the high sometimes obtained when in the midst of a particularly fine session. Thanks Demetra. As you write so well, perhaps you could write on some other aspect as well, e.g. the communal cooking experience among the women and thoase men that participated. Just last week I was in the country outside of Florence, Italy for a family reunion centered on the celebration of the 50th annyversary of a cousin of mine, and an impromptu dinner was cooked by about 7/8 people in a family-communal way. Awave of memory and nostalgia definitely came over me. If more people wrote more stuff about their memories, views, then and now...etc. wec could put it all together and publish... pool the proceeds for the Sunnyridge of the future. FROM leah ...................Jul 25, 1999, 00:36 (EST) hi dad reminded me about this page now that I am online. I haven't seen it all yet but it looks great so far! FROM Stan ...................Aug 11, 1999, 13:31 (EST) I tune in quite often to read so I'm glad you guys are doing it but don't often have much to contribute. I'm working on and off for the census bureau - it's gummint work so it's just crazy enough to fit my style. Need to have a little extra money for asia this fall and winter - mid Oct to mid Jan. Planned itinerary; Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal India, and including hot water beaches, tropical rainforest trek, and high Himalayas - expect to get up to 16,000 or 17,000 feet, with difficulty of course. No altitude sickness, just a lot of hard breathing. It's been three years here in the Insane States of Amerika, so I'm psyched for a little 3rd world reality. Otherwise I'm working on a companion video for my future city concept book, String of Pearls, which I'm slowly trying to get published and a novel, most of which takes place in a reconstituted Sunnyridge in the year 2999 - don't expect to see it too soon. Just in case anybody out there has any adventure left in their old bones, it's amazingly cheap to both get to and get around Asia - join me in Goa for y2k? FROM Peter...................Aug 18, 1999, 15:02 (EST) The day will come when human beings will have a barcode imbedded in/on their bodies so that it will be possible to scan and transmit images that one person's eye sees/has seen to another person. Eventually these systems will become so sophisticated that emotions will be transmissible between folks, if equipped with the right software. Some of these developments will be praised as advances that better humankind,by somem others, of course will be very upset and will damn the whole process and remember the messy good old days when we used to sit in the outhouse and chat. In India, in many places I visited there wasn't even and outhouse... FROM Teddy...................Aug 21, 1999, 23:00 (EST) Hey Peter! Why do lawyers have to wear neckties???? FROM Bill ...................Sep 3, 1999, 22:59 (EST) Hello, looking for and info about what i remenber being called tabtee or something like that , its been a long time but i remenber the effects as mind blowing. FROM Peter...................Sep 8, 1999, 15:46 (EST) Who is Bill? Tabtee? Is he daft? Most people would be unwilling to share such knowledge with just anyone, but we at Sunnyridge have always been magnanimous, and altough I know there are those who will be upset by my revelations, here goes: In fact I remember Tabtee very well and on those occasions when I was involved it certainly provided a very positive experience- I remember Aron Greenberg waxing on poetically on its esoteric and holy properties, especially when applied to some eroticaly esoteric fol-de -rol... on the other hand when Larry saw it in a chart it was alwaays a Sign of something and Barbara's Tarot deck would have to be consulted so that the tabtee could be properly put into its cosmic context especially when someone walked up the driveway with a pouch full of them. Also, as I remember it they were of many colors and when we took them to town to the laundromat it was always easy to tell them apart so that Beany could nail them up in "his" workshop, formerly kids room, middle room, sauna, while others could be planted in the garden. Oh yes the Tabtee... I remember them well... remember when the dogs got a hold of them and we found them out on a far away wood run, among the detritus of the logging operations. One time I acdtually saw some of them hitching a ride up the mountain on an empty logging truck and then hours later saw them waving from the top of some logson the truck careening on the way down. But when you ate some with your oat meal and honey in the morning, with the kids around the black stove and coffee and Jimmy and Rita then you knew that later in the day at the swimming hole you would see them and the eel making their nest. Yes you could also hear them once in awhile while we chanted or the drums and the flutes were doing it oh yes the Tabtee ... it was good. I also remember Tabtee on the planks of food we brought into the Lodge when we inaugurated it and Tabtee was also there when babies were born and ...all the time... Got it Bill? FROM jim...................Sep 8, 1999, 17:25 (EST) wow!!peter, what was a tabtee ? i was there, maybe not...but nevertheless what are you talking about ? it's a lovely remembrance, and all kinds of images are stirred up...no knowledge of the tabtee in any form...the creek, lodge and pies on planks....trucks in mud...one by one as each would get stuck while helping the other(my own input)...but no tabtee, or was it the nickname for dots on paper, that wondrous illusionary hit ? FROM jim...................Sep 8, 1999, 17:53 (EST) and bill ? send us photos, to refresh our memories..... FROM Teddy...................Sep 9, 1999, 01:21 (EST) Hey Bill, sorry, I never tried the tabtee. I tended towards the organic stuff, our home-grown and peyote mainly. Even tried madrone bark to stop smoking. Added yarrow to our home brew. Imported stuff like tabtee actually contributed to the downfall of Sunnyridge. First it was tabtee, then coke, hard liquor and poof, the magic bubble lifted and left a naked shallow bunch of assholes.
