Wow a lot of subject matter in this question. Yes, we did have sort of an orgy once. I think everyone was pretty confused afterwards. Anyone care to comment?

This relates to the "money" aspect of Sunnyridge. We didn't have much, but we "manifested" either what we needed financially or what we needed instead of money. So here's how I manifested getting into jail one day:

I Was driving the "flatbed" to Grant's Pass one day and got pulled over by the police (big surprise). When I showed the officer my NY license, he asked "how long have you been in Oregon". My deceitful mind immediately put 2 and 2 together and I lied, "Oh a few weeks". Since this was incorrect,Ellen Sue lovingly interjected,"What? we've been here 2 years!" I received a ticket from the officer.

A few weeks later, when I was to go to court to pay a simple fine, I asked around Sunnyridge for any spare change and received the reply "Oh, don't worry, they will just understand if you tell them you have no money." So off I hitched to town and appeared at court to plea my case. The judge of course told me to pay a hefty fine for driving without a license and I of course replied that I was a poor hippy and could not pay the fine. He turned a pretty shade of pink and said, "I'm sick of you Hippy-Types comming in here with the same story. You, young man are going to spend the night in jail"

So I was shocked but I must admit I thought it was kinda "cool", getting to actually experience jail time. Got my picture taken, a nice set of clean clothes, and a bunch of new brothers to commune with.

My experience was actually delightful. Being used to eating rice and beet greens for most of time, I thoroughly enjoyed the banquet they served us inmates. As I scoffed down the food and eye'ed the other guys' leftovers, they all looked incredulous at my enjoyment. Took a nice nap, read a little, took in the new environs with true artistic flavor and chatted with a few fellow souls. All in all it was pleasureable experience.

My only sad thought was how just about everyone in jail seemed to be just like me and found themselves incarcerated because they were simply "cought". They made a few mistakes, as we all do, but didn't luck out. I am sure jails are necessary for public safety but most of the inmates are probably there because of some karma not remotely related to their present crime.

Well, I got out of jail the next day and hitched back to Sunnyridge. I only made it to Takilma, so stopped and visited Alan and Reva. Got to see them in action in their own world. Reva, sweeping a pile of dust from one corner of her home (a home with so many planks missing from the walls, you could consider yourself "outside") and Alan, loading whole trees into his stove and just pushing them in as they burnt. I was so cold that night. I think it was the coldest night I ever spent.

Well, got back to the claim (Sunnyridge) and discovered that Ellen Sue was in the hospital. Apparently, there had been a "town run" and Ellen Sue was involved in an accident. But that's another story.

that was individual choices and taste....we ate, some liked the
food and some did not, others cooked and some did not....at first there were
few residents and with the food commodities and our garden and the canning
there was always enough...later when we expanded it wasn't as easy, we always
managed. some liked it, some did not.food stamps helped...sex...some liked it
some did not....smokes were grown on the premise, until we got busted....lsd,
piote...all were used.....music every evening....crafts in building lodging,making
spoons and other household items.....beautiful gardens....hot summers living
totaly outside...work shared by everyone, some liked it some did not....

how did you afford to buy drugs, and where did the drugs typically come from?

in the beginning....there were no "drugs". our days consisted of getting up early, woodruns, and then we had to build and finish the cabin befor winter set in. if we wanted herb, or hash, or lsd(the only "drugs" we used) we would either hitch to takilma, other places in the vally, or to san fran to score. a snickers bar, a silver surfer comic, or Dr. strange would usually alter our consciousness enough then. the tarot, larrys astrology books, manly p hall, the teachings of the masters of the far east, ram dass and tim leary were really the beginning of the "occult candy store"...those books, the occational chocolate bar and a marvel comic or two. the Om circle, from day one grounded our spirituality in community, and gave it "form".

well i wasn't there but I love food, esp fat greesy stuff, thank god for a fast metabolism. But I try to eat good most of the time. Just treat myself now and then. Money is the devil, if I were religous...it makes good men bad and bad men worse. Sex is awesome if you have the right partner...hehe. Drugs are cool in moderation, I haven't had anything good in years. I love oldies, if you're in a bad mood put an oldies stationa nd I guarentee you'll be fine in a few. I like certain arts, I like to write because it's so free, there's no boundries. crafts are cool every now and then, not my big thing tho. Gardens are beautiful as well as functional for wildlife. Summer is my favorite time of the year, as us Leo's all know summer is our time. I wish I could find a job that lets me be me and something that I'd enjoy. I have a death phobia, anyone care to help. And I'm not religous but spiritual, I feel things. I believe in Mother Nature and I love being outdoora, it's refreshing.
