This is what I wrote back in Oct. 1988 about this question.

I came to Sunnyridge in June of 1970, along with Ellen Sue (my wife), Jamal (my first child), and Jimmy and Patty Melnik. Jamal was only 6 weeks old and developed an addiction to the van's motion and would cry whenever it stopped. We crossed Canada during the bug season (very amusing) and were searched for drugs (which we had) when we crossed back into the U.S.

i don't remember ever visiting the commune, but i do know that people from the meadows did... this was 1969-71 or 72... also i remember meeting people from there on the way to or from the monthly grants pass food stamp run...
