Stew,
It really looks like The Bakery link on the above website could be the old "triptik" of Larry and Barbara's. What do you think?

Funny you should mention that----When I saw the address of the Bakery a few days ago, I did a Mapquest search. I came to the conclusion that this building may be on the corner of N. Front and Church--The upstairs of which location I shared with Ted Linden in 1967-68. Downstairs was a TV repair shop....My memory puts Triptik (Tryptych?) nearby---but west of N. Chestnut Street (Rte. 32). Larry and/or Barbara could clarify for you/us, I'm sure....Here is the Mapquest result:
I see you guys are talking about The Bakery. During the 70's The Bakery was the New Paltz Food Co-op. The Co-Op started in 1971 on campus and moved into this building on North Front Street a year later. If Sunnyridge has roots in New Paltz you probably know people from the Co-Op or from the Environmental Studies Site. I was involved with both those groups and eventually started The Bakery here in 1980. There are still a lot of us in New Paltz, but we love to hear from people who have moved on.
The Bakery is behind The Bicycle Rack and next door to the corner apartment building you mentioned. Manny's Art Supplies is still owned by Manny and run by his daughter and son-in-law.

Ted--The SR family album had an ink painting maybe 10-12" wide of Mohonk done at the dump house. Does that still exist?

I have no idea what you are talking about, stew. sorry.
Hey Now Ted- Good guess but incorrect. I had a room on the top floor of the house on Chestnut Street that had Larry & Barbara's Leather shop (the Triptych) on the first floor. Larry had a partner in the store named Harvey (married to a Betty, I believe)- I ahve a very recent photo of that building I could send you, if only I knew how to use this blankety blank scanner I've got. It is similar to the Bakery on this link but NOT the same building. Send me a snail mail address if you like & I can color photocopy my picture & send that to you. Your choice
To all you old New Paltzonians...
Last December, Manny Lipton, owner of Manny's Lounge Art Supplies, died. We are having a memorial get together at Joe's East-West (formerly Spinelli's) on Main Street, New Paltz, on Saturday, June 19th, from 3 pm to 9 pm or so. We are raising funds for a memorial bench in front of the Elting Memorial Library and a scholarship for an art student at SUNY New Paltz.
