Oh! Peter must have built this. It has cedar bark.

VERY FUNNY. It is true that my little place had cedar bark on the outside and I managed to cover one of the back walls of the Lodge with it, but I surely did not have anything to do with this. By this time I was not really there anymore.

I don't think this is don yo's house. that house was 2 levels - the main entrance was the loft level, on the path from the laudry room, around past the yew tree. There was a steep drop if you missed the door (someone did once - fortunately drunk enough to not get hurt).
The downstairs had a door on the opposite side leading to blind sam creek. The house was built on three huge logs that crossed a gulch. The stove was on the far side by the downstairs door, and the right side wall, looking down into the gulch was all windows of different sizes. i don't think there was any bark on the outside.
but....my memory could be clouded by all the herbs consumed in that house....

You are right, Alice, this is not Don's house. But you describe it well..only you left out the audible part. That house was behind ours and many nights I heard the wild sounds of love emanating from it...

Bob Hale had built a little meditation lean-to just downhill from the Lodge, toward the creek. It seems to me that someone later turned it into this structure (maybe Sam Johnson?). Does this sound at all familiar?

Another possibility is that this was the dwelling behind the larder next to the lodge. It may indeed have been inhabited by Sam or possibly a guy named "Chief".

i am pretty sure thats sam's house, his feet stuck out the window....you are correct chief had lived there before....located between the old kitchen and lodge....the meditation leanto became bob hale's house which turned into patty & jimmy melnic's abode, meditation leanto was beyound the lodge.......
